Totodile: Water Type

Totodile placed his hand on the hilt of his rapier. “You take that back.” he growled with a dangerous amount of calmness coating his voice. His foe laughed boisterously, “What?! Did I offend you? Goodness, you're more of a wimp than I thought.” Totodile pulled the rapier out and pointed it toward the enemy. “Shut up!” he shouted, “I may be a bard, but I'm just as strong as you!” Anger boiled inside him, he was sick and tired of others passing him off as a joke. He worked just as hard as everyone else to be strong, he didn’t deserve to be mistreated like this anymore. They would pay for their mistake.

Land Walker

Known as being a playful creature, most Totodile are willing to help anyone in need. However their large maw will often cause the more timid creatures around them to be frightened even when the Totodile is trying to help. When moving around, they find it simple enough to walk on land, but are most at home when they are swimming. They can hold their breath for long periods of time underwater leaving some creatures to think they have gills, but they do not and will eventually come up to the surface for air. It is a common game for young Totodile to see who among them can hold their breath for the longest, if they lose they will often have an explosive tantrum that ends in a splashing fight between the contestants. When swimming quickly through the water Totodile will often leave the red ridges on their backs exposed above the surface to let ships know they are nearby so they aren’t crushed by them.

The jaws of a Totodile are extremely powerful and some well trained ones can even crush metal with their jaws with little to no issue. If they are spooked, rather than run away, most have a fight reflex and will turn around and bite down on whatever scared them. They will stay clamped on to whatever they grabbed till they gain their barings. Most Totodile don’t know the strength of their jaws, and can accidentally hurt others when they don’t mean to.

You have a base swimming speed of 15 feet. You can also hold your breath for up to 15 minutes. This is a temporary trait, when the sheet is finished it will be updated.

Floating Home

There are small towns that are built on top of the water that float across the ocean and large lakes. These towns are filled with creatures both comfortable traversing land and water, Totodile and its older stages are often found living in these towns. Totodile seem to enjoy jumping into the water on the outskirts of the towns and racing the floating town down the river.

Totodile Traits

Allignment: Many Totodile are constantly in a happy and excited mood simply looking for an adventure to go on. They treat others how they are treated and will not shrink in a fight. Sometimes their energetic nature makes it hard to read their sporadic movements causing tension between them and more calm creatures.

Height: 2’00”
Weight: 20 LBS

20 Feet

The average lifespan of the Totodile line is about 100 years old. They reach maturity around 20 but aren't considered to be adults till they hit their 24th year. As Totodile get older their energy and movements start to get less and less sporadic as they seem to calm down with age. The black markings around their eyes tend to get duller and turn more gray-ish red as they near 100 years old. Stories have been told of a Totodile who reached 150 years old and his black markings had turned as red as the spines on his back.

You can speak, read and write Common and Jthooic. Many Totodile speak with a strong lisp that has been described by others as a ‘grinding’ noise. However this is only terribly noticeable when they speak common, when talking in Jthooic their lisp is much less noticeable.

Totodile sat in the town fountain, enjoying the water cascading onto her head. It was cool, refreshing, and a long awaited, much needed bath. She had traveled with a group of friends through the nearby swamp for the past two days straight without so much as a short rest, but now that they had found the city, it was time to take the day off and recharge. She pushed her head under the water and looked around at her tinted blue surroundings. Something shiny caught her eye. What was that? On the bottom of the fountain lay a small shiny jewel. She tentatively swam over and picked it up. Coins and the occasional trinket were things she often found in fountains but she had never seen something quite like this. Who would have left something this valuable here?
