Stantler: Normal Type

Stantler ran as fast as she could through the dense forest, her whooves leaving footprints in the snow that coated the ground. This wasn’t good, it didn’t matter how stealthy she was, the creatures chasing her could always track her down by following her tracks. She tried to think as she distanced herself from them, she had to think of something. If she didn’t then they would have her head for sure.

The large antlers that sit on top of Stantlers head have a few special characteristics. The first of them is the fact that between the antlers grow a small, dark brown sphear. This sphear falls off during the summer time and will grow back to full size by mid winter. It is believed that these spheres are the core reason for the magical abilities that Stantler naturally hold. Their antlers are said to have the power to distort space and reality due to their shape mixed with the strange orbs that grow between them. However what the antlers are actually capable of doing is causing illusions that may make it appear as if they are distorting space. Because of their unique look and strange powers a number of creatures seek after a pair of Stantler antlers, however they do not naturally fall off the Pokemon and are thus only found on the black market or being sold by shady merchants. Sometimes a family of Stantler will hang onto the antlers of their deceased family member to help remember them.

It is hard to spot a Stantler if they do not want to be seen. This is for two reasons, their bodies are made to move swiftly with agility across difficult terrain, every step they take is fluid and hard to spot. The second reason is the aura that their antlers radiate can cause creatures around them to become tired and inattentive, this allows them to sneak by otherwise hostile creatures without issue.

Not Available

Most Stantler prefer to live with other ungulate like creatures in temperate mountain communities. Sometimes they will join traveling groups of hoofed creatures to wander the lands and see the world. However they are always weary of other creatures who try to befriend them simply to get there sought after antlers.

Stantler Traits

Allignment: Although most creatures just see a Stantler as a quick way to make a few coins, if you stop and get to know the ‘Big Horn’ Pokemon you will find out that most of them are kind but reserved. They are slow to trust others and prefer to rely on themselves for protection. They are also not afraid to challenge or attack another creature if they feel threatened using their antlers to help them win the fight.

Stantler live to be about 100 years old. They are considered to be mature at about age 15, but are not adults until 18 years old. If they are able to keep their antlers on their head their whole life they will start to turn whiter and whiter the older they get. Some Stantler that reach 110 years old have them turn so white that they practically glow.

You can speak, read and write Common and Jthooic. Stantler are known for speaking slowly and methodically as if they are trying to fight back the aura of fatigue that their antlers give off. It is not uncommon for them to pause mid sentence trying to come up with the right words to say.

At the start of your turn on the first round of combat, all hostile creatures within line of sight must make a Wisdom saving throw. If failed, they become frightened for a number of rounds equal to your proficiency bonus or until they take damage. Your DC save is 8+Proficiency+Charisma.

Frisk: As you pass by someone, you quickly glance at them. You run the numbers, their equipment isn’t worth a fight, but the guy behind them has some good gear. It may be worth taking them down just to get it…

When Initiative is rolled, you may ask your GM to reveal all magic items one opponent has on their person, however you do not know what effect the magic has on the item.

Sap Sipper: Your foe causes a bunch of vines to wrap around you hoping to deal damage. You bite down on one of the vines and start to quickly drink the sap inside. The Vines wilt as you absorb the sweet taste. They will have to try something else if they are going to take you out.

Stantler stood firmly in place in front of the group of bandits. Their numbers weren’t going to scare him off. He had just as much right as anyone else to be in these woods and these thugs wouldn’t scare him off. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, if they wanted to try to scare him off, he would do the same to them.
