Smeargle: Normal Type
Smeargle froze in place. Pain was shooting through her body, but she couldn’t move, the horror of what had just happened was so much more painful than the physical pain she was feeling. Her foe laughed loudly as she forced herself to turn and look at it. As her eyes fell upon it, tears started to threaten to appear. How could this have happened, it wasn’t right, it wasn’t REAL. It couldn’t be. It was all just some sort of sick nightmare. It HAD to be. Her body started to shake as she looked down at the severed half of her tail. It had been chopped clean off and now she was brushless.
The tail attached to Smeargle is shaped like, and can be used as a paint brush. A fluid oozes from the tip of the tail that has the smell and consistency of acrylic paints. The color that flows from their tail is passed down from their parents, so if both their parents were smeargles and one had a blue liquid and the other yellow their child would have a green tail. If only one of their parents is a Smeargle they will inherit their color. The intensity of the liquids color may vary depending on what emotions they are feeling that day. If they are deeply sad it may get dark and saturated, if they are happy it may turn bright and light in color. Smeargle skilled with the brush have even been known to paint their body with all sorts of strange markings to make them harder to target. It is hard to tell who or what they are, their bodies simply looking like a blur. They use this handy skill to help them leave their marks in places it probably shouldn’t be.
Known for being great painters, Smeargle will spend much of their childhood learning how to paint their family markings. Each family will create its own unique marking and once a Smergle gets old enough they will design their own marking that represents themselves. They will often leave these tags on things to mark them as their own, even going so far to mark their property with them. Sometimes one Smeargle will cover up anothers marking with its own. This almost always leads to the two Smeargle going back and forth covering up eachothers marking causing a thick pile of paint to build up. If a Smeargle thinks of you as a close friend they may ask you to put your hand print on their back using the paint from their tail. This marking will slowly fade over time till it disappears in about a year, if you are still friends they may ask you to do it again.
Once a Smeargle finds a place to live they will often cover it inside and out with paintings. Once every space is filled they will start to paint over what they have already painted. They will often envy others with large houses and may feel like they are wasting so much potential space if every wall is not covered in paint. They can live just about anywhere but seem to prefer large towns with many allies they can put their mark on.
Allignment: Although they tend to be picky, most Smeargle tend to be open to those who show real interest in them and their art. They can be quiet or loud, but will rarely try to tear someone down or discourage them from doing something, on the contrary they will often become an accomplice in large projects or plans.
