Shinx: Electric Type

Shinx ran through the dense forest as fast as she could, sparks flying off her fur with every step. She needed to get away from her captors, but they were right on her tail. With her body glowing, it wouldn't be easy to hide. As she took another step, something grabbed her foot, causing her to stumble and fall face first into the cold dirt. As she pushed herself back up, a bolt of pain shot through her front leg. This wasn't good, she needed to run and a busted leg would make that hard.

Not Available

The fur on Shinx’s body can generate and store electricity created when they move. When they are frightened their bodies will naturally start to shiver and shake violently causing large amounts of electricity to be created. When they move frantically like this a loud popping noise can be heard and the tips of their fur will start to glow and dazzle. Once they have reached max capacity a bright flash will blind anyone nearby making it a great last minute defense to help them get away from frightening foes. If they focus and balance their electricity they can cause the yellow parts on their fur to glow and light up the area around them without blinding those close to them.

Not Available

There are sometimes running competitions between Shinx that are held at night time. As they run across the ground their body will build up electricity causing them to look like glowing streaks of light that occasionally burst with energy when they become fully charged. Shinx that win these competitions are called ‘shooting stars’ and are often sought after as delivery Pokemon. If you touch a Shinx when it's charged up you will feel a static shock hit you. It's not very painful, but can be surprising. Some shinx like to play pranks on others by touching and shocking them when others least expect it.

Not Available

Most Shinx tend to have a good memory and this mixed with their ability to faintly glow in the dark make them excently guides for lost creatures. Some Shinx will wander the roads at night looking for anyone who lost their way, however this makes them easy targets for thieves and bandits. They will often live in larger cities and enjoy living in tall buildings. No one is quite sure why they like this, but some speculate that it is because when they are high up they can feel the electrical charge on their body better.

Shinx Traits

Allignment: More often than not, Shinx enjoy helping others out and will try their best to do so. However, they are also timid creatures and are scared of many things, and this can cause them to miss out on activities that they would normally do if they were braver. When they are glowing they tend to have a more wild spirit about them and may do dangerous things they would normally want to avoid.

Blinding Light

You are able to use the electricity you have stored in your body from moving around to temporarily blind others. Once per long rest as an action you may cause all creatures within a 15 foot radius who can see to make a Constitution saving throw. If they fail they become blind until the end of your next turn. Your DC save for this trait is 8+proficiency+Intelligence modifier. This is a temporary trait, when the sheet is finished it will be updated.

100 years old is the average age that the Shinx line lives to. They reach maturity around 16 years old and are considered to be adults at 20. As they get older the electrical charge of their fur becomes stronger and brighter. When they get to be about 100 years old the light from their fur turns bright white rather than its normal soft yellow.


You can speak, read and write Common and Sonhinese. Many Shinx have a voice that most would describe as sharp. Each word they speak almost sounds like it has static or the crackling of electricity softly behind it.


There are 30 natures, pick a nature that best describes your character. Increase and decrease the appropriate stat accordingly.

Racial Ability score increase

You run to build up electricity and you build up electricity to run. Both are a strong source of your life. Choose your Intelligence or Dexterity ability score and increase it by +1. See rules on racial ability score increase for more information


No Pokemon has to evolve, but if Shinx wishes to evolve it may do so at level 5(see Luxio for upgrades)

Abilities: Pick One

Rivalry: You grit your teeth as your opponent flaunts around the battlefield. With every step they take your hatred for them rises. You can’t let them win, there is no way you will allow that to happen.

If you deal damage to a creature that is the same gender as you, you deal more damage equal to your proficiency modifier.

Intimidate: You grin as your foe tries to push themselves back up. Your last attack had hit hard and you can see new fear in their eyes. They had underestimated you before, but now that they know your true strength, they are terrified.

At the start of your turn on the first round of combat, all hostile creatures within line of sight must make a Wisdom saving throw. If failed, they become frightened for a number of rounds equal to your proficiency bonus or until they take damage. Your DC save is 8+Proficiency+Charisma.

Guts: “Is that all you got?!” You scream as you feel the poison start to set in. A little poison isn’t going to slow you down, you will just have to take a few more risks. You won’t let them win.

If you have any conditions your attacks deal 2D6 more damage to your first attack each round. The conditions ‘prone’ and ‘grapple’ are not affected by this ability.

Evolution Trait

Glow: Your body is constantly charged with electricity allowing you to let off a faint glow. As an action you may cause the yellow fur on you to glow in a 20 foot radius shedding bright light and another 20 feet of dim light. It takes an action to dissipate the glow. This is a temporary trait, when the sheet is finished it will be updated.

Shinx sat on the cold grassy hill, looking up at the stars. Whenever he did this, he always felt so small. The universe seemed so big compared to him. He was just a small speck in the grand scheme of things. No matter how important a Pokemon might think they are, they would never be anything compared to the vastness of space. "It’s amazing, isn't it?" A voice behind him said, startling him and pulling him out of his thoughts. He spun around to see who was there. His jaw dropped. "P-palkia?!" he managed to stutter out as he attempted to stand up.
