Pikachu: Electric Type

Small sparks lept from Pikachu's cheeks in anticipation as she silently pulled an arrow back. She took a few deep breaths to calm herself down, it was important she hit her target the first time. She crouched behind the tree as the creature slowly walked towards her. Just a few more steps and they would be in range. Suddenly a familiar noise filled her ears, a magical crackling. She quickly jumped to the side as a large explosion erupted where she had been standing just moments ago. Her cover was blown, this was not good.

The tails that Pikachu have are extremely sensitive to electricity. By lifting them upright they can sense the electrical energy of other nearby creatures helping them find anyone who is hiding nearby. However, their tails also attract electrical energy and if it is stormy or a large group of Pikachu gather in one area lighting will often strike their tails. The Pikachu don't seem to mind the shock, but they may get startled by the noise.

The red pouches on a Pikachu’s cheeks store electricity that they gather up from the static around them. They will use this stored electricity to shock enemies or anything strange and new to them just to see what will happen when it is electrocuted. On occasion they will shock berries as a way to cook them, the taste of these berries can not be replicated any other way. When Pikachu sleep their cheeks gather static around them. This causes them to be extremely charged when they wake up and they may shock things around them on accident. Pikachu also have the ability to charge other electrical creatures, if others are low on energy they can rub their cheeks against them to transfer energy.

Forest Home

Most Pikachu live in forested areas and are most comfortable around other electric type creatures. You can often tell what home belongs to a Pikachu by the electrically charred land where lightning has attempted to hit their tails.

Pikachu Traits

Allignment: For the most part, Pikachu enjoy helping others, but their lack of control over their electricity may cause issues to arise. Even though they may cause problems, Pikachu are not deterred by it and will press on even in the hardest of times. They are great friends to have as they treat others with kindness.

70 years old is the average lifespan of the Pikachu line. They reach maturity around 10 years old but are not considered to be adults till about 15 years old. It is said the short life span is due to the fact that their heart beats twice as fast as most other creatures. As they get older their fur will start to mat up and become dull compared to the shiny coat that young Pikachu have.

You can speak, read and write Common and Tankonian or Laloian. Most Pikachu have a pleasant sounding voice that many creatures call comforting. They tend to speak softly and if they aren’t careful others can easily speak over them.

Once per long rest when you touch another creature with the electric typing you may transfer HP from you up to your player level. Then you must take a long rest before you can charge another creature and you can not transfer temporary HP. This is a temporary trait, when the sheet is finished it will be updated.

Abilities: Pick One

Static: Electricity flies around you making loud popping noises. Your hair, as always, is on end. When your opponent approaches you the electricity flies from you to them jumping all over their body.

When you get hit with a melee strike you may use a reaction to force the foe to make a Dexterity saving throw, if failed they gain the ‘shocked’ condition. You can use this ability the number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest. Your DC save is 8+Proficiency bonus+Constitution.

Lightning Rod: You smile as the electricity dances around you. For some reason electrical energy always tended to be attracted to you, but you aren't complaining. Something about the way it dances seems soothing.

If you are in range of an attack dealing lightning damage or an Electric type racial attack you may force it to target you. If you are hit with any attack dealing lightning damage, your next damage dealing attack deals an extra die of lightning damage. Once per long rest you may cause yourself to be resistant to any attack dealing lightning damage or immune to any Electric type racial attack, if the attack would have a secondary effect the effect is also negated.

Pikachu walked briskly down the street as the rain fell from the sky drenching everything it touched. He had been visiting an old friend and on his way back home it had unexpectedly started to rain and now his fur and cloak were soaking wet. A bright flash suddenly filled the sky quickly followed by a earth shattering boom causing him to stop walking. A powerful aura vibrated around him. It couldn't be... He quickly spun around, and what he saw caused his jaw to drop. He shook his head to make sure he wasn't dreaming, it couldn't be... standing in front of him, electricity pulsing off of it was the legendary Zapdos. His knees buckled , what was Zapdos doing here?
