Metapod: Bug Type

As he rode on the back of his Mankey friend, Metapod grumbled to himself. All he could think about was how stupid this all was. He was an amazing warlock; he shouldn’t have to be carried by someone. He had chosen to evolve to become stronger, not to become useless. The only thing he could do as a Metapod was cast vocal spells. But just wait, when he evolved again he would become unstoppable!

Metapod have an extremely difficult time moving and most of the time have to rely on others to carry them but can hop around if they need to. They tend to avoid intense battles due to their lack of mobility. On very rare occasions during intense fights, a Metapod may slip out of its cocoon, leaving themselves defenseless. Because of this most Metepod prefer to avoid confrontation in this state and prefer to wait till they evolve to take on others.

Metapod has a cocoon that hardens over time and it can become as hard as iron. The more battles it endures, the stronger its cocoon becomes. Inside the cocoon, however, they are extremely soft and vulnerable. They have to carefully roll around to move from one place to another for fear of ripping the cocoon and falling out. It is uncommon, but a few Metapod will never evolve out of choice. Some do this because they feel others will underestimate their abilities while others enjoy the simplicity that their lives take on from being confined in their shells.

If Metapod have the option, they will stay in one safe location until they evolve. It likes dark, green locations and can be often found on the top of tree trunks in rainforests waiting. There are also areas that groups of Metapod can go to wait out their evolution, where other Pokemon will protect them until they do so. From time to time they have been known to take shelter in others’ attics unknowingly and may startled the homeowner.

Metapod Traits

Allignment: Metapod are often upset about being confined to their cocoon and won't hesitate to complain to others about it as they feel that is the only thing they can do in their confined state. They take their anger and frustration out on opponents and sometimes even their allies. However the bonds they make with others during this frustrating time can often lead to wonderful friendships later.
