Gabite: Dragon / Ground Type
“There's nothing you could offer me that would make me sell out my friends.” Gabite scoffed. The sableye chuckled and grinning grabbed a blue stone from his backpack. As the Pokemon held it up to the light it shimmered brightly leaving Gabite transfixed by its beauty. “Are you sure?” Sableye said doubtfully. “ I can pay you. This is a water stone, It has very… unique properties. And many would say its one of the rarest jewels there is.“ As Sableye spoke he flipped the stone around in his hands. Gabites eyes greedily followed the gems every moment. It was so beautiful, he had to have it...maybe his friends would be alright even if he did tell this greedy Pokemon where they were hiding, they were strong adventures after all and what could one little Sableye do against them?
The scales that Gabite shed have unique properties and can be ground up and used in medicine to restore energy. Only the most skilled doctors can use these scales as ingredients in potions and remedies. Some Gabite like to hoard their scales and will use them as decorations or even armor if they can amass enough of them but as they only shed a scale or two once every month this would take a long time to do and gives very little in the means of protection. The large protrusions on the side of Gabite’s head can send out ultrasonic waves through the air. The waves can bounce off dark cave walls and back at them allowing the Pokemon to see in the dark.
Gabite hoard gems and other shiny objects. They can often become transfixed by the glittering of jewels. The only creatures they will allow near their hordes is Carbink. They are often enthralled by the jewels attached to Carbinks bodies and will often try to get Carbink to stay and live with them so that they can have a living jewel in their collection. Many creatures will often blame a Gabite whenever anything even remotely valuable goes missing.
Dug out holes on cliff walls is where Gabite tend to make their homes. Many will even put a door over the hole opening in an attempt to keep others out. They do not like living near other creatures and try to live as far away from others as they possibly can. If it finds any jewels while digging they will line the walls of its home with the glittery gems. You can tell how long a Gabite has been living in one place by how deep the hole is and how large its hord has become.
Allignment: The lure of shiny and valuable objects is almost too much for Gabite to stand. They will steal these objects from anyone if they think they can get away with it, even family and friends. If you want to get a Gabite to do something for you a simple offer of money or glittering trinkets should do the trick. They aren't inherently greedy Pokemon and will often help out others if asked politely.
Weight: 123 LBS
300 years old is the average lifespan of the Gabite line. The older they become the stronger their desire to hoard objects gets. Many of them will pierce their fins with shiny earrings in an attempt to satisfy their need to collect shiny objects.
