Chimchar: Fire Type

Chimchar put his hands on top of his head and started to pace the length of the cell. “Its alright, don’t panic, everything is going to be ok.” he muttered attempting to convince himself to feel better. It wasn’t working too well. He could feel his heart beat starting to rise and his breathing was becoming quick and shallow. He closed his eyes and tried to focus on breathing. He was deep underground in some bad guys lair without a clear exit in sight. This was his worst nightmare coming true. He cursed under his breath and could feel tears starting to form in his eyes. And what was worse was that all this had happened just because he had offered to help someone out. It wasn’t simply wasn’t fair, why was he being punished for trying to be nice?

The long arms that Chimchar have make it easy for them to scale sheer cliffs and climb nearly impossible terrain with ease. The speed and finesse they have when climbing will often leave others in awe. Many of them enjoy the thrill of reaching dangerously high heights and may sit on tall mountains or cliffs for extended periods of time just looking down at the world below them. Although Chimchar have large ears in proportion to their bodies, they aren't any better at hearing with them then a regular creature, instead they use their ears to help sense the direction and speed of the wind when up high. This ability helps them to better balance when climbing in unstable areas.

Known for having a flame burning on their backside, Chimchar actually have the ability to control the intensity of the fire and can even put it out entirely. They will extinguish the flame at night or when near especially flammable things so that they don’t cause a raging fire by accident. The flame that is their tail is fueled by gasses that are made by chimchars belly that ignite when they come in contact with air. What they eat can determine the color of the flame. If they are feeling sick or unwell their tails may have a hard time igniting and staying lit.

You can climb easily and quickly up surfaces that others would otherwise find impossible to do. You have a climbing speed of 25 feet. This is a temporary trait, when the sheet is finished it will be updated.

Tall, craggy mountains is where most Chimchar call home. They enjoy the sensation of being high up with many stating that it ‘makes them feel alive’. They aren’t against living near or with others as long as they are high up where the air is thin. Some Chimchar will even make their homes near the tops of trees in towns populated mostly by bird Pokemon.

Chimchar sat high in the treetop staring up at the stars, a faint smile painted on her face. The night lights glittered in the sky like raindrops that were floating, unable to make it fully to the ground. She reached her hand up as if trying to reach out to the stars and grab them. This tree was the highest thing for miles and sitting on the top of it allowed her to be as close to the sky as possible. She stood up on the weak branch in an attempt to get even closer. Why did the heavens have to be so far away? The flying creatures she spoke to had told her that even they couldn’t reach it, but how could that be true? It looked so close to her, as if all she had to do was jump and she would find herself up with the stars. Suddenly the branch she was standing on snapped causing her to lose her balance and tumble down the tree, hitting branches and being cut up on her fall. The only thought running through her head as the ground quickly got closer was ‘why did this always have to happen.’ Whenever she reached for the stars she always fell back down, her body becoming hurt in the process. She just wanted to see the heavens, was that so much to ask?
