Banette: Ghost Type

Banette locked eyes with her lifelong friend and watched as tears started to fill his eyes. Holding her arm he asked, "Why? Why are you doing this?" Banette clenched her fist. She wished she could stop, but her body wouldn't let her. She was no longer in control. Looking her friend coldly in the eyes, she replied, “It's because of you. When we were younger, I took all your anger, your vengeful thoughts, and now I must act on them." She yanked her arm out of his grasp and unable to stop herself, headed out the door.

When Shuppet evolve into Banette, all of the negative energy they had absorbed now becomes ingrained in their personality. They have extreme urges to act upon the absorbed grudges and will often strike out in order to release the negative feelings. Some Banette have the ability to stick pins in their body in order to place curses on others, but this is a rare thing.

Banette are often referred to as lonely puppets due to the fact that the emotions they absorbed when they were Shuppet are now controlling them. If they are treated kindly or they get to fulfill their dark desires, then bad energy will leave their body, causing them to once again have control of their own actions.

When Banette evolve, they are often cast out of cities due to the havoc they cause. They often will live alone wherever they can. There is said to be a city made out of garbage where a community of Banette live. On occasion, you can find one living in a back alley or in the darker parts of towns.

Banette Traits

Allignment: Everything Banette has absorbed as Shuppet is now ingrained in its body, causing the Pokemon to stop at nothing until its revenge is satisfied. Once it has eased all the negative energy inside of them, they often become decent, peaceful Pokemon.

This is the final evolution of this line. Banette can no longer evolve, however it can mega evolve at level 15. (See Mega Banette for upgrades)

Upon evolution many Pokemon change their name to better fit their new form and their new lifestyle. Some possible new names a Banette might take on are: Juppeta, Branette, Banette, Darkpet, Geppetto or Zuzhouwawa.

Abilities: Pick One

Insomnia: Your eyelids are heavy, but that is normal for you. Sleep is for the weak, and you refuse to be considered weak. So you must stay awake, stay awake and take down everyone in your path.

You can not be forced by another creature to fall asleep.

Frisk: As you pass by someone, you quickly glance at them. You run the numbers, their equipment isn’t worth a fight, but the guy behind them has some good gear. It may be worth taking them down just to get it…

When Initiative is rolled, you may ask your GM to reveal all magic items one opponent has on their person, however you do not know what effect the magic has on the item.

Cursed Body: With every step you take you can feel the spirits around you trying to fight with you. You promised them you would help them find rest, until then, they are your allies. If your foe isn’t careful, one of the spirits may just latch onto them and make it hard for them to hit you.

If you are hit by a melee attack, the creature that hit you has disadvantage on all other melee attack rolls against you till the end of their next turn.

Type Effectiveness

Evolution Trait

Curse: You can cause curses to fall on others. Once per long rest you may use the bestow curse spell. This is a temporary trait, when the sheet is finished it will be updated.

Banette sat on top of his cottage looking at the city in the distance. He wanted to go back, but they probably wouldn't let him. He had done some crazy stuff there, and even though he knew he had changed since then, they didn't. Most likely if they saw him, they would try to destroy him. Sighing, he whispered to himself, "That's what I get for evolving."


Once per long rest you may cause a single creature within 50 feet that can see you to make a Wisdom saving throw. If they fail they gain the frightened condition. When they have this condition they must attempt to move as far away from you as possible. They no longer have the condition if they lose line of sight of you, or if they use their action to make the saving throw and succeed. Your DC save for this trait is 8+proficiency+Charisma modifier. This is a temporary trait, when the sheet is finished it will be updated.
